Description
Built around interviews with over twenty skiing notables, this film is a nostalgic portrayal the time when winter sports blossomed throughout the Northeast. From Maine to Connecticut, the film captures the era of small neighborhood ski and sledding hills, ski races up main streets, oxen erecting rope tows, and all the places where people enjoy winter. Beginning with the downhill skiing boom of the sixties, continuing with the lure of cross-country touring in the seventies, and ending with the rediscovery of the telemark turn and the birth of snowboarding, the film finds the roots for the extreme skiing movement that crowns the end of this century of winter sport.
